Eritrean National Commission: Successful Meeting in Kuwait City
Commissioner Ramadan Mohamed Nur, secretary of the Organizational Committee of the Eritrean National Commission for Democratic Change (ENCDC), conducted a successful public meeting in Kuwait city.
The meeting which took place on the 6th November 2010 was attended by considerable number of Eritreans who are prodemocracy and seek change in Eritrea. Eritreans in Kuwait who participated in the successful National Conference for Democratic Change gave their personal testimony about the conference and its achievements. They explained with much enthusiasm how proud they felt to have been part of that historic event.
Mr. Ramadan elaborated the formation and the mission of the ENCDC and upcoming National Congress. He stressed that “the ultimate aim of democratic change, our values of equality for the people in Eritrea, could only be attained if and when we all pull on the same string and work together despite our differences.” It is highly anticipated that the upcoming National Congress will pave the way for radical change in the political process. Commissioner Ramadan urged all Eritreans to work with ENCDC, be part of this ongoing process and use the upcoming congress as a rare opportunity to prioritize the people’s agenda and to bring the necessary real change.
After the question and answer session the participants of the meeting affirmed their readiness to work with the commission, look at the bigger picture and work together to save their people and country.
The meeting in Kuwait is the continuation of the public meetings that have been going in the past two months in all parts of the world. It has been reported that these meetings by ENCDC have been highly welcomed by the public and that, in most cases, the turnouts have been high.
