EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT OF THE ERITREAN DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE MEETS ERITREANS IN ESTERN SUDAN

Sources from Kassala Eastern Sudan, have reported that Mr. Hussien Kelifa chairman of Eritrean Democratic Alliance (EDA) has made a visit to Eastern Sudan as an extension of his itinerary to meet community leaders, village elders and representatives of a cross-section of Eritreans who reside there. The primary purpose of his travel was to popularize and promote the lofty objectives of EDA so that Eritreans in the Diaspora could be well versed on current progressive development of the opposition forces. He oriented his compatriots about the coordinated position of the Senn’a round-table. More over, he elaborated the relationship of EDA executive secretariat with Sudanese and Ethiopian government executives and the contribution of these countries to guarantee safety, stability and peace in Eritrea.  He stressed the importance of peace and stability in the region with special reference to Eritrea. He further said that EDA will do its level best to improve and consolidate the relations between Eritrea and neighboring countries. He also noted that the chaos and distraction being renewed in Eastern Sudan is progressing from bad to worst with the PFDJ system meddling.

He called upon his compatriots to revitalize their vigor and dynamism they have demonstrated to the world during the war for independence. He appealed to all of them to stand vigilant and alert in the struggle for peace, freedom and democracy in Eritrea.  The people on their part commented that the unity of Eritreans is the only political and strategic alternative if Eritreans are to fulfill their aspiration to peace and freedom.    They pledged that they would rally behind EDA and give it full support until democracy and justice strive and thrive in Eritrea.

The meeting so conducted was the first of its kind in that it attracted representatives of people, more than 90 representatives of political parties, civil societies and many well known personalities who could strongly influence states man of the country they reside.
