Khartoum – The President Omar Al Bashir and the First Vice-President Salva Kiir Mayardit hold a high level meeting today Sunday in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to discuss pending issues and the crisis in Abyei and South Kordofan.

A learned source told Sudan Vision that US Secretary of Department Hilary Clinton is expected to join later.
The meeting is expected to debate the deployment of African troops under UN umbrella in lieu of the United Nations Missions in Sudan peacekeepers (UNMIS) in Abyei region. “These troops will be similar to the UNAMID, but will be solely from Ethiopia,” the source added. “The Sudanese government and the government of South Sudan have given a green light to such agreement sponsored by Thabo Mbeki,” the source revealed.
Liu Guijin, China’s envoy on African Affairs, said following his meeting with Al Bashir in Khartoum yesterday, Al Bashir and his First Vice-President, Salva Kiir, will hold meeting in Addis Ababa organized by the head of the African Union High Level Implementation Panel, Thambo Mbeki to discuss Abyei and South Kordofan.
“We support this crucial meeting between the two partners in Addis Ababa to discuss Abyei and South Kordofan,” Guijin said, pointing out his government’s as well as African mediation headed by Thabo Mbeki support, which he said has achieved tangible results. “The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and National Congress are prepared to sit and negotiate pending issues.”
Guijin expressed hope that the two parties will arrive at effective results so that they are able to establish peace between the North and South Sudan.
“All stakeholders have to be serious about resolving all these problems and challenges,” he stressed.
Al Bashir briefed Mr. Guijin on the situation in Sudan, particularly in Abyei and South Kordofan as well as the government’s efforts to further peace in Sudan.
The Chinese envoy affirmed his country’s support to peace efforts in Sudan, pointing out his government’s desire to boost relations both with North and South Sudan in favor of common interests.
Thabo Mbeki was reported to have announced that Al Bashir and Kiir will hold a four-day meeting in Addis.  Mbeki said his panel is exerting efforts to bring the two leaders together in a bid to redress the security situation in South Kordofan and Abyei.
Following a meeting with Salva Kiir in Juba, Mbeki called for the importance of putting an end to the deterioration of security and resuming work for urgent security arrangements between the north and south ahead of declaration of south Sudan independence on July 9, according to UN radio Maraya FM.
Mbeki had met with Al Bashir in Khartoum on Saturday. Presidential advisor Mustafa Osman said in statements to the press that Mbeki had offered specific proposals with respect to recent developments in Abyei and South Kordofan.
