Commendation of the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights Violations in Eritrea

Eritrea celebrates the anniversary of the 25 years of its independence in coincidence with the meeting of the Human Rights Council (HRC) , that will be held in Geneva on June 23, 2016. The violations of human rights committed by the Eritrean regime over the last 25 years will be the main agenda of the session that will evaluate undoubtedly the report of the Commission of Inquiry, which on (06/27/2014) was invested by the Human Rights Council (HRC) of the U.N. of all the powers to investigate the Human Rights Violations in Eritrea on the ground.
After two years of intensive research and painstaking work, the Commission of Inquiry has come to the finish line and finally drawing the due conclusions.
The ENSF, in the name of all the victims who have suffered physical, moral and material violations, feel deep gratitude to all the members of the Commission of Inquiry without any distinction, and everyone who has supported the Commission and made possible its delicate task. The Commission of Inquiry, despite the Eritrean regime tried to prevent the achievement of its mandate and despite the complicated situation, has successfully completed its path undeterred, and shed light on the systematic violations of human rights exerted on the Eritrean people.
In solidarity with the Commission of Inquiry, Eritreans of the diaspora in general, and their political organizations, civil society associations, the youth as well as the Eritrean women’s associations, have organized last year powerful popular demonstrations in Geneva and New-York. This year too, in sign of further confirmation of solidarity, and as gratitude to the Commission, the forthcoming of June 23, 2016, the city of Geneva will witness a big rally.

The crimes committed by the Eritrean regime against humanity should in no way be left out and ignored, but rather sentenced. On this occasion the ENSF appeals to the UN Security Council so that the main authors of the regime in Eritrea accused of crime appear in front of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. Justice must prevail!
