The Djibouti Air Force carries out air strikes inside Eritrean territory.

The Eritrean National Salvation Front (FNSF)  reported according to news received from the Eritrean-Djibouti border, on 19 September, the Djibouti Air Force carried out air strikes against Djiboutian opposition positions and camps inside Eritrean territory. In the areas of “Sidna” and “Dadno” Directorate Rahita.

Eritrean National Salvation Front sources confirmed that the air strikes had caused human and material damage. The same sources indicated that the Djiboutian opposition had penetrated into the territory of Djibouti in recent weeks and captured three soldiers from the Djiboutian army.

It is worth mentioning that a border dispute between Eritrea and Djibouti broke out in 2008 and did not stop until after a Qatari peace agreement was signed in 2010, under which Qatari forces assumed international peacekeeping operations between the two sides. However, this situation has changed since the deterioration of the relationship between the two countries and the State of Qatar last July, as this led to the withdrawal of Qatar forces from the borders of the two countries, which was covered by the news agencies at the time. Following these developments, the Ethiopian-Eritrean border is unstable.

The Djibouti government has recently lodged a complaint with the United Nations against the Eritrean regime for allegedly occupying parts of its territory.
