ELF-RC Meets Tigrai Region President

on 10 October 2007 met in Addis Ababa with H.E. Mr. Tsegai Berhe, President

of the Regional State of Tigrai and his team and discussed the importance of making

concerted efforts to heal the fraternal solidarity between the peoples of Ethiopia and

Eritrea that had been worsened by events of the recent past as well as by the ongoing

propaganda of hate and grudge unleashed by the irresponsible one-man regime in

Eritrea.

A follow-up meeting held in Makale, Tigrai, on 17 October 2007 with Mr. Tedros

Hagos, head of the political office for the regional government and the ruling party

office for the region, further deepened the discussion on issues of mutual interest

towards promoting health relations between the two countries, and especially between

the people of Eritrea and northern Ethiopia.

The two sides agreed to study ways of cooperation for fostering people-to-people

programmes at the level of communities, public meetings and through the media. The

ideas are expected to be consolidated for implementation in follow up meetings.
