Ustaz Saleh “Gadi” Johar Visits Australia
Sponsored by Eritrean Australians for Justice & Peace, Ustaz Saleh “Gadi” Johar, the ardent and fearless human rights campaigner is visiting Australia during December 2012 to February 2013. Saleh is a renowned Eritrean political activist fighting a tyrannical regime that has been ruling Eritrea with an iron fist for over two decades. His visit to Australia gives further impetus for the Eritrean opposition activities. The purpose of Saleh Johar’s visit to Australia is manifold:
(i) To open diplomatic avenues in Australia that will strengthen the struggle for establishing democracy and improve human rights in Eritrea.
(ii) To hold a series of political lectures in several cities of Australia to further activate and energise the Eritrean opposition base.
Fortunately, Saleh Johar’s visit to Australia coincides with the annual resistance rally organised by the Eritrean opposition camp against the so-called cultural festival sponsored by the Eritrean regime to collect money and further oppress the Eritrean people. The presence of such a high calibre human rights defender during the resistance rally will elevate morale among Eritrean human rights activists in Australia.
