Koffi Annan expresses his concern about the situation between Eritrea and Ethiopia

(Jan.5)-The Secretary General of the United Nations expressed his deep concern about the worsening situation between Eritrea and Ethiopia. Mr.Koffi Anna warned that the international peace keeping forces have been in a dangerous state. The Ethiopian newspapers have high lighted the statements of the Secretary General which he gave as the chance given for the two countries to implement Resolution 1640 of the Security Council ended.

The tension along the Eritrean –Ethiopian border escalated at the time a high level delegation of Eritrea’s visited to Sudan. The delegation included the figures that have always been considered as the frontage figures in facing up the Sudan. Mr. Yemane Gebreab, Head of the Political Affairs of the PFDJ, chaired the delegation replacing Mr. Abdella Jabr who headed the delegation last October.

Mr.Jabr, who did not draw the attention of media outlets as he did in the first round, only came as a member in the delegation. It is worth mentioning that Mr.Jabr accompanied the Eritrean president in his last tour to Egypt, and Libya. Mr.Jabr has always been in charge of the Eritrean relations’ file with the Sudan.

The Eritrean delegation included Mr.Yusef Saiq,Hagos Kisha ,Abdella Jabr, Mohamned Omr,Weda Kasa and  Mr. Ahmed Issa who had been Eritrea’s ambassador to the Sudan.

All the members of the delegation are members of the Executive of the PFDJ. Mr.Mahmmed Omr represented the ministry of foreign affairs in the delegation while Mr.Wedi Kasa the Security and Intelligence apparatus.

Moreover the star of Mr.Mohammed Omr, the acting minister of Foreign Affairs, disappeared

In related news, the Eritrean Salvation Front has integrated its legislative and executive bodies and also formed its preparatory committee for the integration congress.

 Dr.Mahmud Negash chaired the legislative body; Dr.Beyanee chaired the Executive body while Mr.Henjma chaired the preparatory committee of the integration congress.
