A chance of evacuating Eritrean refugees in Libya

Recent news came to our attention from official bodies which addressed the horrible and inhuman circumstances under which all Eritrean refugees are living in Libya and that about one thousand Eritreans in Tripoli have been registered and their names have been submitted to the Italian Foreign Ministry to be able to evacuate them by naval vessels, or by the Italian border guards.

We know that there are more than one thousand Eritreans living in Libya to whom we make our appeal and call in order to go to the Catholic Church in Tripoli or to the International Red Cross, and if they are afraid to go outside their homes, they are requested to call the following numbers and mention their situation and their areas of residence.

The contact numbers are:

00218917422663,   002186193484,   00218213314131,   00218612225116

We kindly request every Eritrean reading this appeal, to inform as soon as possible their relatives or friends living in Libya  to move expeditiously, so as not to fall behind any Eritrean living in Libya, on the process of evacuation. If the ongoing endeavors succeed,  the lives of our Eritrean compatriots in quagmire can be saved.
