Women’s Participation Is a Must for Success of National Congress

The Eritrean National Commission believes that women are not only the other half of our society but also war heroes who made history during the armed struggle for the liberation of Eritrea. With their participation they played a big role for the success of the previous historic national conference. Hence, the Commission is persuaded that the coming National Congress and the process for democratic change can never succeed without women’s participation.

Based on the above, it is to be remembered that the Eritrean National Commission, taking into consideration the positive experience of the previous National Conference, had decided that the number of women participants in the Congress be at least 30%. Hence, let it be noted at this juncture that in every locality the election of women to the coming conference is crucial and should therefore be taken with seriousness.  

The ENCDC furthermore calls on all who seek for democratic change to work for the success of the Congress through the realization of self-reliance and due financial contributions. The financial contribution may be given to the local commissioners or assistants of the people’s committees, or it may be sent directly to the official website of the National Commission: www.encdc.com .
